The Dow Corning Citizen Service Corps program was established to help Dow Corning gain new insights into the needs of people in emerging markets and explore new opportunities for innovation and business growth through service to others.
How the program works
- The Dow Corning Citizen Service Corps sends teams of 8-10 Dow Corning employee volunteers to communities in developing economies where we do not yet have a business presence.
- The teams will participate in intense, four-week volunteer service projects aligned with Dow Corning’s business objectives and sustainability focus.
In 2011, ten employees will travel to Ujire, India, where they will spend four weeks working on one of three projects designed to gain insight into a developing market while also making a difference in that community.
